Dry January vs Ginuary

Are you in the heavyweight Dry January corner? Or rooting for the newcomer Ginuary this year? Whether you’re quitting the alcohol for charity or health reasons, or you most definitely want to enjoy crisp wintery G&T’s this month we’ve got it covered….

Coxy’s Crisp & Dry is made using our fab fruity Shrub mix, this is a crisp, sweet & sour non-alcoholic cocktail (although you can add a shot of Gin if you want to, we won’t tell!) perfect for winter. It pairs our Spiced Damson Shrub with a good quality local apple juice, we like Cox, obviously!

Coxy’s Crisp & Dry

Ingredients, makes 1

25ml Coxy’s Spiced Damson Shrub
200ml Cox Apple Juice
100ml Dash Soda
Ice
Squeeze Lime
Apple slice
Juniper berries

Method

Into a large gin glass, simply pour the apple juice & soda over ice, gently add the Shrub right at the end for a two tone effect, add a squeeze of lime & finish with a thin slice of apple & a few juniper berries & a paper straw.

If like us you relish a crisp G&T on a cold winters day we have just the cocktail for you. The blood orange season is short, they normally appear in greengrocers in January & have gone by March. We love pairing our Lavender Gin with bitter citrus, try this cocktail with grapefruit juice as a year round alternative.

Coxy’s Blood Tonic

Ingredients, makes 1

50ml Lavender Gin
100ml Blood Orange Juice (or Grapefruit juice)
150ml Tonic
Ice
Slice of orange
Juniper berries

Method

Into a large gin glass add some ice, then pour over the Coxy’s Lavender Gin, top up with blood orange juice, add tonic to taste & finally decorate with a slice of orange & a few juniper berries.
