Spiced Apple Sauce

Easy peasy delicious fresh apple sauce beats any shop bought version. We like this recipe because it’s quick, cheap & flavour filled & perfect for lazy foodies. We make our MightyFine Mulling Syrup every year to use in homemade wine (it’s an intensely flavoured orange & Christmas spice infused syrup) but we’ve discovered it has lots more uses in the kitchen, add it to cocktails, baking, sauces or use as a glaze for roasting your Christmas ham. Try this sauce with your pigs in blankets!

Ingredients
500g Bramley Apples
100ml MightyFine Mulling Syrup

Method
Peel & core the apples & then dice them. Add them to a pan along with the MightyFine Mulling Syrup & slowly bring to the boil with a lid on the pan. Give it a stir occasionally so it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan. Once it’s come to the boil, reduce the heat to low & simmer for about 5 minutes, give it a good stir to break any chunks of apple down, give it a taste, you can add more syrup, honey or sugar if you like a sweeter sauce. Serve this warm or cold, it keeps for about 5 days in the fridge, or you can freeze it & defrost as you need it.
